Location
Located deep in the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, Salt Lick Safari Lodge offers a wonderful viewpoint overlooking the vast Tsavo plains. The lodge is situated near an airstrip for fly-in arrivals and is a 6-hour scenic drive from Nairobi.
For something different, guests can arrive by train with the Maradaka Express offering a 3-hour journey from Nairobi. A generous waterhole laid out right in front of the lodge draws in a plethora of animals and guests have access to the World War 1 Museum and battlefields and local villages.
Rooms
Standing tall above the ground, 96 individually decorated rooms stand on stilts, built in a rounded chalet-style shape with brick walls painted cream and cone-shaped black roofs. Accommodation is set on three different levels with bedding configuration comprising double, twin or triple beds. Each room includes an ensuite bathroom with toilet, sink and shower.
Decor is neutral with a splash of color with simple furnishings completing your comfortable stay with mosquito nets in the bedrooms, an electric fan and a safety deposit box rounding up in-room amenities.
